WHEN & WHERE

Building on our successes in 2017 and 2018, the 2020 Bergen County Care Fair again promises to be the largest, “All in One Place,” countywide event of its kind. The Fair will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2020 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at the Fairleigh Dickinson University Rothman Center, 100 University Plaza Drive in Hackensack. The Rothman Center was chosen given its: (a) stadium-scale size (300 Exhibitors can easily be accommodated);
(b) central location immediately adjacent to Route 4 with easy access from Routes 17, 46, and 80 and mass transit lines; and (c) sizable parking.

THE IDEA

The Fair was conceived as a result of a partnership between the Bergen County Division of Community Development and Department of Human Services given empirical evidence that “knowledge is power” for the many Bergen residents struggling to find the right health care and  support service options amidst the predicament of the current system. Both agencies bring decades of experience in successfully planning, mass advertising, and managing large-scale events for the public.

FINDING CONNECTIONS

Exhibition booths hosted by nonprofit and for profit health care and support service providers will incorporate the heart of the Fair and be organized categories (e.g., Senior Care, Specialized Health Care and Chronic Conditions). All attendees will be provided with a Day-of-Fair brochure that will include an exhibit “map” to facilitate finding needed connections.

Fair operations will include translators and accommodations for those with

disabilities/special needs.
